- Recent changes:
- Page out of N5ZKF’s book…
- Got a Yaesu FTM-500D base station that I’m using right now
- Have it set up for WIRES-X
- N5ZKF: would like to do C4FM on repeater or simplex!
Bill Hobson (NW5C)
- Currently working on two ham projects:
- Getting radials to stay buried beneath the grass so I can mow
- #14 copper wire has gotten expensive! (used to be $0.03/ft)
- Setting up a separate listening antenna “on the ground” (M-waves vs. E-waves)
- Getting radials to stay buried beneath the grass so I can mow
Jason Ross (KJ5QLS)
- Brand new ham!
- Put up a VHF/UHF antenna 2-3 days ago and am trying to see how many repeaters I can hit
- 2-story house on a hill in Grimes county; Antenna is 9.5 ft above that
- Hoping to put up a 10 m dipole!
- Member of Grimes County ARES, and might join up with W5BCS
Phil Gates (N5ZKF)
- My slow, recent changes: I’ve been labeling things… everything
- Knowing what connects to what
- Nifty idea: use a sharpie to write on bread clips and put around cables
